Community Connections
Narrabri Education Foundation was formed by a group of Narrabri
Community members to raise money to assist students in their post-school
study options. The Foundation has raised money from the local corporate
community and has been generously supported by Graincorp. Interviews
are held at the end of the academic year and students are assisted
financially on the basis of opportunity and need.
P & C meets monthly providing an important forum for discussion
& suggestion & linking the school body with parents and
the community.
Canteen committee meets monthly. The financial support of the P
& C through the canteen is an invaluable service to the staff
and students of NHS.
Music Parents' Association meets once per term, to discuss events,
fundraising etc and works in support and promotion of Music staff
and student activities at the school.
Uniform Committee meets when needed. A Uniform Clothing Pool operates
on Fridays from 8.30 am - 9 am.
Tutors - Certificated community tutors regularly assist students
with Numeracy, Literacy and socialisation on a withdrawal basis.
Auscott Cotton Scholarships - provide funding of a Tertiary Scholarship
to a successful Narrabri High School HSC student.
Narrabri Tafe - provide HSC recognised courses in Retail, Automotive
and Animal Care.
The Narrabri Shire Council hosts an Afternoon Tea to welcome beginning
and new teachers to the district.
